All Our Time

from Glass Stained Eyes by Coming Up Roses

/

about

________________________________________________________

All Our Time is alt-rock / shoegaze band Coming Up Roses’ first single since the departure of their drummer Bruce Tan. A song about finding forgiveness and a way to move on, it’s lyrics distinctly reflect the band’s current disposition and perhaps overarchingly, the state of the post-pandemic world.

With All Our Time, the band focuses their sound through a magnifying glass with sprightly vocals layered on top of reverb-laden guitars - presenting a more melodic and polished sound compared to their earlier works. Frontwoman Emily Sera says: ‘This song is like a new beginning for us, but in a vital sort of way, we still look at the past with a glint in our eyes.’

lyrics

I see you, I see you coming down,
We need to, we need to get out somehow
Are we running from ourselves?

You tried to, you tried to let me down
And you want to, but it won’t happen now
Is it all too late for us?

If you won’t let me in
Then how can we begin?
We’ve lost all our time
Is it on a dime?

Don’t say you’re sorry just to leave me in the cold
Don’t say don’t worry just to leave me in the fold
Cause nothing will ever change
If we leave things the same

If we lose, if we lose all that is ours
And we choose to stop and smell the flowers
Are we lying to ourselves?

I’ve got you, I’ve got you figured out
But you don’t, no you don’t know how
You don’t know how

If you won’t let me in
Then how can we begin?
We’ve lost all our time
Is it on a dime?

Don’t say you’re sorry just to leave me in the cold
Don’t say don’t worry just to leave me in the fold
Cause nothing will ever change
If we leave things the same

Cause nothing will ever change
If we leave things the same
Even if it stays the same,
I’ll be right here

Don’t say you’re sorry just to leave me in the cold
